Textile recycling Program, Fishers Island
These pieces were produced from the clothing collected through the textile recycling program that I ran at the Fishers Island Transfer Station. This program entailed the daily collection and sorting of textile goods that would otherwise be discarded improperly with the other trash and debris from the island.

The vivid hues and colors of the color wheel stand as a testament to each of the garment's otherwise ultimate fate being that of the landfill.

Death by Consumption
Materials: recycled clothing
2022
Made from white jeans, fisherman's sweaters and t-shirts alike, this skull alludes to our innate desire for consumption through the constant purchasing of the newest seasonal and fashionable wardrobe must-haves. My hope is for the viewer to think twice about the lifecycle of their clothing, as the majority of what was collected merely seemed perfectly wearable.
